RaoGPS Cam: Location & Time (com.rao.gpscam)
🛡️ Offline-First Privacy Guarantee: RaoGPS Cam does not require user accounts, does not collect personal identity information, and does not upload your captured photos or location data to any cloud server. All data stays strictly on your physical device.
1. Introduction
RaoGPS Cam ("the App") is developed as an offline-first tool for professional site surveying, engineering inspection, asset auditing, and legal evidence documentation. We believe in complete transparency and absolute user data sovereignty.
2. Permissions and Data We Access
To provide high-precision geotagging and surveying features, the App requests standard Android device permissions:
- Camera (
android.permission.CAMERA): Required strictly to capture field photos and stream the live viewfinder. The app never accesses the camera in the background. - Precise Location (
ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION&ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION): Used exclusively to determine real-time GPS coordinates (Decimal Degrees and DMS), altitude (MSL), heading, and GPS accuracy to stamp directly onto the photo overlay and embed in image EXIF tags. - Storage / Media Images (
READ_MEDIA_IMAGES, Scoped Storage): Required to save stamped survey photos directly to your device gallery underDCIM/RaoGPS Camand display previous captures in the in-app gallery. - Sensors (Compass & Accelerometer): Used on-device to calculate heading direction and device pitch/roll angles to verify level camera orientation during inspections.
- Biometrics (
USE_BIOMETRIC, optional): If enabled by the user, Android's native BiometricPrompt allows fingerprint or facial authentication to unlock the app. Raw biometric data is handled exclusively by the Android secure hardware keystore; the App never has access to biometric data.
3. Data Storage & Sharing
Zero External Transmission: Your photos, geotag metadata, project lists, and referral codes are stored exclusively in local device storage and SQLite databases. We operate no cloud storage, no analytics trackers, and no external photo syncing.
User-Initiated Sharing: When you tap "Share Photo" or export images, the App summons the native Android system share dialog (Intent). You have 100% control over which application (e.g. WhatsApp, Email, Slack, Drive) receives your survey photos.
4. Advertising & In-App Purchases
The App integrates the official Google Mobile Ads SDK and Google Play Billing for optional Pro feature upgrades. Google Play Billing and Google Mobile Ads operate under Google's Privacy Policy. In the core free version, advertising is designed to be non-intrusive and never interrupts active camera capture.
5. Children's Privacy
RaoGPS Cam is an enterprise and field utility intended for professional users aged 18 and older. We do not knowingly collect any data from children.
